This is a phenomenal feat by a highly fit and determined young man to give back to his friend and his friend's family.

Sean Bell is running 50 Marathons in 50 consecutive days as a very special tribute to his mate Joe Moschetti, who passed away in his sleep from unknown causes. Sean's first marathon started on 4/1/19 and ends 50 days later on 22/2/19. Join and celebrate his last day of the run the 22nd of February at The Manhatten Hotel at the corner of Heatherdale & Canterbury Roads, Ringwood, Victoria, 3134

And he is doing this just as a warm up to run 14,000 kms around Australia in further support.

Sean and Joey were friends, who both played for the Vermont Football Club. Joey died suddenly in his sleep. An explanation has never been found.

Joey's parents found it very difficult to deal with the mixed reactions and at many times insensitive comments after Joey's death. So as well as being devastated as a family, they felt more and more isolated within society. That was until they found, Compassionate Friends. The Moschetti family finally found support with the not for profit group Compassionate Friends of Victoria, who helped them help deal with their grief. And they and Sean Bell, want to now help others who have experienced such tragic loss.

Compassionate Friends Victoria assure that "You will find the special understanding of those who have "been there. There is no pressure to talk or not talk, cry or not cry, just a chance to be yourself, to have time-out with people who understand what you are going through and want to help. We offer a safe haven, a listening and understanding ear, a place where you can let down the mask, and if you wish, talk about your son or daughter, brother or sister who has died. We don't promise a miracle cure, just comfort and the consolation and hope that broken threads can be picked up again."

They have a 24 Hour Grief Support - Phone line at
(03) 9888 4944 or 1300 064 068

This is a grueling run. Sean can run between 3 to 5 hours a day depending on how well he feels. He has even been answering interviews questions while he is running. He sometimes starts at 4:30 am to avoid the heat. His last run will be late afternoon to arrive 7:00 pm for celebrations at Manhatten. For tickets to join the celebrations go to: www.eventbrite.com.au/e/jog-for-joey-celebrating-seans-50th-marathon-in-50-consecutive-days-tickets-52384654913

His has had two physical setbacks with a bad foot and a hamstring and has been supported by Healthy Being Osteopathy and Back in Motion Mitcham Physiotherapy in all of this.

Sean is hoping that one day of the Marathon will be partially run with the Richmond Football Team. See facebook for all these details.

He has been interviewed on Channel 31/D44 Eastern Newsbeat which airs at 9 am on Monday, the Channel 10 News and featured in the Herald Sun. His last day of running will be late afternoon to arrive at 8:00 pm for a massive celebration at the Manhatten Hotel.

Support Sean Bell and Compassionate Friends in any way you can. Good on ya mate.
