Handmade, decadent cakes and tarts
Imagine the chocolate shop out of the movie Chocolat, now replace it with cakes, and you've got Jocelyn's Provisions. Be surrounded by dark chocolate, caramel shards, strawberry frosting, lemon cream...
Jocelyn's is well known in Brisbane for handmade prestigious specialty cakes. Nestled behind Vroom Bistro Restaurant on James Street, just off Doggett Street in Fortitude Valley, Jocelyn's is not one to be missed. Covering all occasions such as weddings, birthdays or something to satisfy your sweet (or savoury) tooth. They adapt to your needs, with staff offering personal consultations upon request to make your cake dreams come true. I recommend you go in for a week day visit, to beat the Saturday rush.
A range of gluten free options are available, along with other provisions such as jams, relishes and oils. The staff will surprise you with their extensive knowledge of every cake's ingredients, ready to recommend their favourites.
My personal favourites include the Flourless Almond and Raspberry Chocolate Cake, it's rich and decadent, satisfying my daily chocolate cravings -and beyond. For those who like something a little less rich, the Passionfruit Tart is unforgettable. Savoury wise you can't go past the Polenta Stacks- give them a try and you'll be pleasantly surprised. For the "meat and three vege" kind of person- the Lamb and Rosemary Pies will win you over. But what's best of all? Everything's handmade with love.
Surprise your loved ones with a special thought from Jocelyn's or pop in to get a take away treat for lunch. Either way you'll be back in no time wanting to eat your way through the entire store.
