Thai food at its best
There are many Thai restaurants around and some are just mediocre, but JJ Thai is one of the better ones.

Their meals are not huge which means you can eat more variety of food, something I really enjoy. The ambience and seating was comfortable with casual, Thai surroundings.

This was a Groupon buy valued at $39 for two Thai banquets, and was extremely good value.
We had a choice of three courses, an entre, a main and a set menu of fried banana ice cream as a dessert.
The most difficult thing was deciding which two main dishes to choose as many of them looked so good.
Their full menu can be viewed at this address and meals can also be delivered from this site.
For the first entree we chose the Golden Ships and these are on the menu at $6.90. They are minced chicken and chestnuts wrapped in crispy wanton pastry.

For the second entree we chose the Goong Tod which was 4 pieces of deep fried marinated king prawns with homemade sauce at $7.90.

Then it was on to the main, where there was a choice of about 30 different meals to choose from - this decision took a bit longer than the entree! Finally, we went for the red duck curry, which was quite spicy, had an interesting flavour and was on the menu at $18.90.

The second main we picked was the Pad Kee Mao which is a stir fried combination of mixed seafood, beef, chicken, with red wine and fresh basil. This was not quite as tasty as the duck, however, was still very delectable, and enjoyed by both my friend and I. Cost of this one is $19.90.

By the time we had eaten this, we both really felt we had had enough to eat, but to our delight, we had no problems eating the fried banana pieces with a great coffee flavoured ice cream. This put the finishing touches to a very enjoyable lunch.

Serving sizes were not large apart from the entrees, and this was a bonus for me, as I will go on eating, and go on eating, and then eat some more, and afterwards feel awful. At JJ's this was not a problem as the sizes were what I would term "sensible" and not padded out with extra onions and/or rice. We also ordered a big pot of Jasmine tea, which they did not charge us for.
A very well priced bargain Thai banquet, they also have a takeaway menu, and are open for lunch on Thursday and Friday only, and dinner Monday to Sunday. Their delivery fee is $5 with a minimum order of $40. To dine in, go to unit 5/249 Main Street, Osborne Park, and there is off street parking outside.
