A fine dining experience with a local vibe
Located within the popular Frangos & Frangos building in Daylesford, Jimmy's Bar and Dining Room serves up contemporary Australian fare with a bit of a twist.
The regional area, known for its quality local wine and produce is highlighted on the Jimmy's menu in beautiful surroundings. So if you're a wine enthusiast (and who isn't?) you're certain to find something that will please your palate.
With both a bar area and a semi-formal dining area, Jimmy's is ideal for a variety of special events, casual dining options or events, and a romantic dinner.
The menu isn't bogged down with too many choices, just a handful of options that are done well to prevent option paralysis.
We enjoyed Jimmy's on a quieter Wednesday night and had the extra benefit of chatting a bit with the waitstaff who are incredibly friendly and knowledgeable about the menu. We got straight to it and started off with the golden duck breast with spiced pumpkin, asparagus, sugar snap peas and duck jus.

While portion sizes are overwhelmingly heavy, they did leave just enough room for us to try out two of the desserts. The first, a popular favourite of the venue, mini doughnuts with a lemon syrup, Persian fairy floss and vanilla ice cream and the second, a favourite with my dining companion and our waiter's recommended favourite, the goats curd and quince cheesecake, with ginger biscuit crumble and vanilla ice cream.
Absolute heaven; the mini doughnuts with lemon syrup, Persian fairy floss and vanilla ice cream.
