Jimini's Cafe

Jimini's Cafe, located in Hornsby Westfield Shopping Centre, pride themselves on their great food, beverages and friendly service. Not only do they serve good coffee and a wide selection of premium teas, they also provide All Day Breakfasts and an outstanding range of gourmet burgers.

I've been to Jimini's a couple of times for one-on-one catch ups with friends, and I'll most definitely be back again. Not only does Jimini's offer a unique menu with plenty of variety, it also sports a laid-back, tranquil atmosphere - which is quite the feat considering it's located in a bustling, sometimes crowded mall. The staff are all quite friendly, and service is efficient and prompt. There is seating "inside" the cafe and closer to the counter, and also "outside" the shop, in the centre of the shopping centre walkway. Having sat both inside and outside, I have to say that I prefer to sit outside, as it feels a lot more open and relaxed, as opposed to the slightly confined, smaller space inside. And frankly, there's something therapeutic about watching busy people rush by.

The breakfast menu includes your standard items such as bacon and eggs; however it also offers a variety of omelettes, crumbed mushrooms on sourdough, french toast, and 'Jimini's Benedict' (smoked salmon with ham or spinach on toasted sourdough bread).

The lunch menu is largely comprised of modern Australian cuisine, and includes fresh salads, pasta, wraps, and sandwiches. They also have a 'Specials' menu, which contains more daring options such as antipasto plates, gourmet burgers, and soups. I tried the fetta with pesto on sourdough entree during my first Jimini's visit, while my friend had the gourmet burger special. We were both fairly impressed with the quality of our dishes.

Entree: Fetta and pesto on sourdough bread

Special: beef gourmet burger with side of chips

Overall, I'd say that Jimini's quick, friendly service and diverse menu with healthy options is one of Hornsby's best cafes - terrific for both coffee and lunches.

Great coffee, the best in Hornsby when the taller slim man is brewing!
