Indulge your creative side and add some beautiful, hand crafted jewellery to your collection. From beads to bespoke baubles, these jewellery making courses are sure to unleash your inner designer.

For Dinosaur Designs replicas at a fraction of the price, take a jewellery making course at Mill Lane Studio. The studio offers a three hour workshop on Bangles and Rings or a four hour workshop on Resin Jewellery Making. The workshops provide instruction on safety, preparation and a range of different techniques, and students may take home everything they make in the class. For an extra fee, participants are given a jewellery making kit which includes enough resin to make several more pieces, a mould, some tools and equipment and a resin jewellery book.

Fio Contemporary Jewellery and Design (6/65 James Street), a bespoke jewellery design house in Fortitude Valley, runs workshops for hobbyists and industry professionals. Introductory and intermediate classes last for eight weeks and teach basic skills like setting stones, filing, sanding, polishing, shaping, joins and working with different materials. The more experienced, 'Hone Your Skills' workshops take one day and provide more instruction on soldering, stone setting, casting or finishing. Prices start at $180 for the one day class, through to $680 for an eight week course.

Beads and Beads at the Myer Centre in Queen Street offers classes in fashion jewellery making using semi-precious stones, pearls, glass, bone and metal beads. Classes are $30.00 per person, which includes use of tools and the materials needed to make a necklace or bracelet and a pair of drop earrings (which the student may take home). The maximum class size is six, so bookings are required.

Or, you can learn to make beads at Wildlight Studios (30 Badminton Street, Mt Gravatt East). Wildlight is the only Brisbane venue to teach glass bead making to the public. The lessons take place over a day, from 9.30am until 4.00pm.
