I have gone on a course to make jewellery and it was quite fascinating. It is a good feeling to make something and then wear it, or give it away as a present!

In this workshop, you can join in and earn how to make your very own jewellery and reversible bag.

You will have access to use a lovely range of fabrics. With the bag, you can add whatever you want, to make this unique to you, thereby creating something very individual and something you will not see two of! You do not need any previous sewing experience to attend this class - just book yourself in!

In the jewellery session, you will create a necklace and earring set. This will match with the fabric that you have chosen and used in the making of the bag. The workshop is structured to have one-hour making and designing your jewellery. There will be one hour with Sarah, and one-hour sewing with Robyn.

Sarah runs a successful jewellery business - Sarah Munnings Jewellery. She has a registered patent for memorial lockets designed and made in Melbourne, attends markets regularly, and has sold at Collective stores across Melbourne.

The class includes the following:

  • different fabrics for you to make your own bag
  • all sewing equipment supplied on the evening
  • potted succulents to put in your bag

  • a choice of different materials to make your jewellery from (metal or wood) and fabric to feature
  • silver plated chain and jewellery findings (earring posts, backs and chains)
  • a fun day with lots of tips and techniques to take home with you

  • There is a maximum of 6 people in the class and this allows the teachers to spend a lot of time with each person and sharing with other participants. It promises to be a fun and intimate environment.

The things you make could be ideal as a gift set, or if you prefer, of course, you can keep these all for yourself - after all, you did all the work and put the thought into it!

You can also buy additional jewellery materials on the night including nickel free options – stainless steel, sterling silver earring wires and chains. You can then continue making more once you get home.

Robyn will also have fabrics and various items from her range available on the night to purchase. So you can "have your cake and eat it too" - you can make more as gifts while keeping some for yourself!

It will be held on Thursday, 16th August 2018 from 7.30 pm to 10.00 pm at Kingston Creative Studios, 31 Melaleuca Drive, Clarinda.

It will cost just $60 and you can get your tickets here.
