You may call them jet skis, personal watercraft, wave jumpers, wave runners, or other things, but whatever you call them, you know these vehicles that can carry up to three passengers are a lot of fun. Imagine riding one of these within sight of the famous New York skyline or close to the Statue of Liberty. You can do that by renting jet boats to ride on the Hudson or East River or on the Atlantic Ocean itself. Here are some places that let you do that.

Boat Rental New York

There are two contact places for this business, which rents jet boats. They are 2277 Homecrest Avenue Brooklyn, and 40 Exchange Place in New York City. You can rent jet boats for a day, so you have plenty of time to sail around the waters of New York City and some of its borough. Always wear personal flotation devices and remember to watch for other boat traffic. Remember, you may be harder to see than a larger boat, so make sure you remain alert at all times.

Jetty Jumpers

This is a jet boat rental place that comes with your own personal driver, who also acts as your tour guide. Don't worry, though; if he considers it safe enough, you'll get a chance to drive the jet ski. You actually take a tour on your jet boat, which starts at Coney Island. You'll pass the Verrazano Bridge on your way to Manhattan. Once you get to the South Street Seaport in Manhattan, you'll get close enough to say "hi" to the tourists in your own unique way (they'll get a little taste of the water, too, just like you are). You'll actually cross the state line from New York to New Jersey on your journey, because you're going to the Sandbar in Jersey City for a fast meal. So, you'll get to travel to two states in one tour.

Blue Streak Water Sports

1900 Shore Parkway, Bensonhurst, which is located in the Brooklyn borough, is the location for Blue Streak Water Sports. You're only a few minutes from Coney Island, so after you've enjoyed a morning half-hour ride for $65 (this rental fee is effective between 9:00 AM and 12:00 PM), you can visit this famous amusement park. If you've already visited Coney Island, and you're ready to cool off, be at Blue Streak Water Sports any time between 12:00 PM and 8:00 PM, where you can rent a jet boat for $75 for a half-hour. This is the perfect way to end a day of fun in New York City.
