The Production Company have yet another spectacular musical to add to their impressive catalogue. Currently on at the Arts Centre in Melbourne, Jesus Christ Superstar is not to be missed.

Tim Rice and Andrew Lloyd Webber's Jesus Christ Superstar comes to life on stage with catchy numbers including, Jesus Christ Superstar, Heaven On Their Minds, What's the Buzz? Everything's Alright and I Don't Know How to Love Him.

The story revolves around the last week of Jesus's life, with the plot centring on the struggles between Jesus and Judas.

Rob Mills has joined The Production Company for the first time in the starring role of Jesus Christ, alongside Zoy Frangos as Judas. Helpmann Award winner Alinta Chidzey plays Mary Magdalene and helps to round out the terrific trio. The chemistry between Mills and Chidzey feels natural and Chidzey radiated throughout the State theatre with her incredible rendition of Everything's Alright and I Don't Know How to Love Him.

Although quirky at times with references to popular culture, I appreciated the modern take on a classic story.

The ensemble were outstanding and special mention goes out to musical director Anthony Gabrielle who has enough charisma to fill two stages.

Jesus Christ Superstar is spectacular and will hold your attention to the very end.
