I stumbled into Jester Seeds by mistake a few weeks ago, and what a happy mistake that proved to be! Much like a muggle strolling blithely past Platform 9 ¾, it's easy enough to walk right by Jester Seeds without even realising it – it's an unobtrusive little number, all recycled furniture and odds and sods, with none of the blaring dubstep or fearsome security guards of other nearby establishments.
It is Jester Seeds' mellow vibe that draws in the customers and makes them feel right at home – or, perhaps more accurately, like they're laxing out in a quirky student pad. The bottled beers wrapped in brown paper bags, old school traffic lights, garage roller door and Astro Turf out the back add to the chilled house party vibe, and it's a perfect place for a quiet mid-week drink with friends.
The small bar opened last year and has quickly found fans, largely due to its unpretentious and friendly atmosphere. There's an emphasis on sharing here: generous (and reasonably priced) jugs of sangria are on offer along with a selection of more-ish nibbles. The drinks menu is superb, with a delightful range of cocktails, wines and beer on offer, and the knowledgeable staff members are on hand to make recommendations.
My drinking buddies and I shared a gorgeous night at Jester Seeds. The service was excellent, the drinks were fantastic, and it is a place I will be visiting again. It's a real winner and I can't recommend it highly enough. Visit now before everyone is there.
