Stand up and Paddle is a relatively new sport which is suitable for anyone who has enough physical fitness to take a one hour walk and can swim at least 50 metres. Based upon an old sport, SUP is like Longboard/Malibu surfing, except you stand for the whole session and use a paddle to get around. You do not need surfing skills to stand up and paddle.

In Jervis Bay the operators of Stand up and Paddle are a mobile company, this enables them to come to you or your favourite water location by arrangement, but you can find them most mornings paddling around Currambene Creek.

Stand up paddling is best enjoyed early morning when the waters are calm and peaceful, stand up and paddle start their activities from 7am and other times by arrangement providing water conditions allow.

Lessons are available and the operators assure its easier than it looks and great fun, the first lesson is about 90 minutes, once this is completed your free to stand up and paddle, this is a fantastic keep fit exercise, an excellent crossover sport that not only provides more time on the water but also provides an isometric workout that strengthens core muscle groups, improves balance and generally improves fitness. The sessions are tailored to suit the fitness and ability level of the group and start at just $25 per person.

All instructors at Jervis Bay, Stand up and Paddle are qualified with the Academy of Surfing Instructors (ASI).
