See the world's newest tourist attraction at Coolum
Palmer Coolum Resort is home to many things - championship golf course, amazing foods, a collection of vintage cars, and now, a dinosaur.

Billionaire and mining magnate Clive Palmer's controversial robotic dinosaur, Jeff the Tyrannosaurus Rex, has made headlines around the world - and not for all the right reasons.

But truth be told - it's pretty cool. And you can meet him to see what all the fuss is about. It stole the show when the resort hosted the PGA in late 2012. Jeff, as he was named by his owner (maybe or maybe not after Jeff Seeney), was shipped in from China.

He measures at least 20 metres in length, stands 8.5 metres and weights in at 1.7 tonne. Needless to say, be thankful he's not alive. Although he's able to simulate breathing, growling, and slight head movements. The kids love it.

You don't have to be staying at the resort to see him in action. He's pretty easy to spot as you drive in, just over the lake, overlooking the ninth hole, with Mount Coolum in the background. Clive would love to have you down to see Jeff, he already says he's responsible for bringing in more bookings from international clients.

If things go well, then Jeff could just be the beginning. Clive has spoken on numerous occasions on bringing in anywhere up to 180 dinosaurs for his resort. Former swampland at the back of the resort has been earmarked for Clive's 'Jurassic Park'.

Jeff's a pretty sociable dinosaur as well - check out his Twitter and Facebook accounts.

It's an unlikely tourist attraction but Jeff has something going for him. He's larger than life, much like his owner, and doesn't make apologies. You've got to see Jeff to believe him.

It's quite eye catching when you see it in the distance. You think 'did I just see what I think 'did I just see what I think I saw?'
