Support a great cause and enjoy a dazzling night out
If you're looking for a dazzling night out in Perth, raising money for a good cause, then you might want to consider purchasing one of the hottest tickets in town for the seventh annual JDL Men in Black Ball.
Last year's event saw over 400 guests set in for a dazzling evening
What's it For?
Hosted by Momentum Forum Events on June 21st 2014, The Men In Black Ball, aims to raise funds and awareness in support of men's mental health and the ongoing fight against depression. According to figures by the World Health Organisation (WHO) it is predicted that by 2030, "depression will account for the highest level of disability accorded any physical or mental disorder in the world" (WHO, 2008). A shocking statistic, but one that acts as a reminder that this is a disease that could affect any one of us, or a loved one.
Momentum Forum Founder, Barbara McNaught says, "Men don't talk, boys don't cry. The stigma attached to this topic needs to be removed. I believe that since the inception of the Men in Black Ball in 2008, more men know that they are not alone and are more open about the topic."
Arafmi WA was a recipient of funds raised from the 2013 Men in Black Ball, a charity that has a 36-year history of providing men's mental health support and services.
Head to the Hyatt Regency for this glamorous evening
The 2014 testimonial speaker will be Grant Meldrum, an ambassador for Soldier On an organisation that supports Australian service men and women who have been wounded, physically or psychologically in contemporary conflicts. Celebrating its seventh anniversary, the Men in Black Ball, is a glittering night for the Perth social calendar attracting 450 guests each year from the political, sports, business, social and arts world in aid of this worthy cause. This year the MIB Ball will be hosted by Network Ten presenters Lachy Reid and Caty Price.
