Renowned jazz musicians Joe Lovano , Katie Noonan and Vince Jones will astound Perth audiences in a one night only triple bill at 7.30pm on Saturday 25 May at the Perth Concert Hall.
Grammy Award winning Joe Lovano is one of the finest and most internationally recognisable saxophonists in the world. Returning to Australian shores, Lovano is set to impress Perth.
Lovano collaborated with one of Australia's most exquisite singers, Katie Noonan, on her ARIA Award winning release Blackbird.
This collaboration will form the perfect segue with a few numbers together before Noonan performs music from her album Elixir featuring Steve Magnusson on guitar and Zac Hurren on saxophones. Noonan also duets with Vince Jones, one of Australia's most celebrated jazz artists.
The two are notorious for their work together on a project called Songs of Love and War, Noonan and Jones will once again join forces in a trio let by Matt McMahon on piano.
Associate Professor Graham Wood, Artictic Director
Professor Graham Wood, Perth International Jazz Festival's Artistic Director says: 'I'm genuinely excited to hear and see such an amazing selection of musicians performing as well as collaborating for the Lovano/Noonan/Jones concert. To see artists of this calibre as headline acts on separate concerts would be sensational but to combine them on the one bill will provide a rare experience.'
