Here's great news for all you jazz hep-cats and hep-kitties, the
Advancetown Hotel, 402 Nerang Murwillumbah Rd, Advancetown puts out a mix of live jazz, blues and Australian rock every Sunday from 1.00pm.
But a Sunday afternoon can't always be just about the music. Last year, the Hotel introduced monthly complimentary wine tasting for the
Jazz Sunday Sessions allowing patrons to sip on award winning wines while listening to a mix of live jazz, blues and Australian rock. As a result of the success of these sessions, the
Advancetown Hotel has kicked off autumn in style by engaging
Pepper Tree Wines to host wine tastings each month at the pub's popular
Jazz Sunday Sessions.
Pepper Tree Wines, from Pokolbin, New South Wales is one of the most awarded boutique wineries in Australia amassing five star ratings from James Halliday in his Australian Wine Companion over the past years.
Entry to the
Jazz Sunday Sessions is
FREE and the wine tasting is complimentary.

Sip wine, eat cheese, listen to music - it all makes for a perfect Sunday
But the big draw for the
Sunday Sessions is the ever-changing line up of musical talent appearing. Up until the end of next month the following artists are appearing:
Next Sunday,
29 March,
Steve Cummins and The Bar Studs will be entertaining the crowd just as they have for many years.
The following week, on Sunday the
5 April,
Jeff Camilleri will be captivating you with his vast repertoire of 60's and 70's rock and roll classics through to current artists such as Jason Mraz and Bruno Mars. Just wait until you hear Jeff cover such greats as Bob Marley, Neil Diamond and Elvis; you'll close your eyes and picture them there.
Then on the
12 April,
Nicole Parker-Brown and Friends will be keeping everything lay-back and cool all afternoon as you take in the music and songs while partaking in the complimentary wine tasting hosted by
Pepper Tree Wines.
On the
19 April, the
Mason Rack Band the popular three piece headed up by Mason Rack, a born entertainer, will be putting on another of their amazing live stage performances.
Rounding out
April on the 26th,
The Blues Stomp Holding Co., a band formed after three mates with a deep and mutual love of the blues had a few jams and a few more beers and realised they had something to share with everybody.
The Advancetown Hotel is the centre of its small community and has a loyal clientele but since starting the
Jazz Sunday Sessions new patrons have begun coming from across the Gold Coast and further afield.
The pub maintains its friendly country atmosphere and the inclusion of jazz and wine tastings have added a new dimension and attracted a new mix of people who may otherwise have bypassed this lovely spot. It's a very special place where you can sit out in a beer garden, on a picnic rug, enjoying fine wines and cheese platters with free live music.
