There are so many lovers of jazz around and now you can attend . This is Western Australia's premiere regional jazz festival. It will be held from 31st May to 3rd June 2019 and it will be held in various venues.

Down south they turn the heat up in winter and get visitors and locals out of hibernation and into some cosy venues to enjoy cool jazz.

This event will actually be held across more than 20 venues in Busselton, Dunsborough and Margaret River in WA's south-west. gets people swinging, singing and jiving at more than 40 performances by over 200 artists across four days!

The festival features free and ticketed events in:

  • Live soul
  • Funk
  • Jazz big band
  • Bebop
  • Swing performances

  • These will be held during the day and into the night on the street, in wineries, bars, theatres and private properties.

    provides a complete feast for your senses with many events. There will also be some gourmet local food and wine at these events. As Dave Brubeck would say [i]"Take Five"[/i] and go where the in-crowd go this June!

    [b]* Michelle Spriggs Trio[/b]
    This will be on Friday 31st May 2019 from 2.00 pm to 5.00 pm at the Rustico at Hay Shed Hill, 511 Harmans Mill Road, Margaret River.

    This is a FREE event however you will need to book a table at this link.

    You can join three of Margaret Rivers most experienced jazz musicians as they demonstrate their love of jazz, soul and re-charged pop covers. You will be able to buy mouth-watering tapas and drinks by Hay Shed Hill Wines served in Rustico's award-winning style.

    The Michelle Spriggs trio have been playing together around the south-west for over ten years and incorporate double bass, piano, guitar and trumpet. They will feature Michelle Spriggs on vocals, Kevin McDonald on guitar/bass and David Rastrick on bass/trumpet/guitar.



    [b]* So What - Funk Edition[/b]
    This will be held on Friday 31st May from 5.00 pm to 7.30 pm and is free. It will be held at the Bootleg Brewery, 37 Wildberry Road, Margaret River.

    This event is sure to get you dancing! If you want the full music-meets-dining experience you can pre-purchase a two-course dinner before the event. This will be an entertainment package which will cost $50 per person plus booking fee. You will have a choice of meat or fish.

    This is a local south-west cover band with a huge following and for a very good reason. They play genres and eras of some of the world's greatest tunes and continue to delight audiences with renditions of soul, funk and jazz-influenced sounds.

    From Stevie Wonder to Herbie Hancock and L.R.B. to 10CC So What will perform an eclectic Funk Edition playlist for . They will feature Yallingup's local piano-man Sean Lillico on keyboard and vocals, Hugh Lawson on drums, Chris Wallace on bass guitar and local guitar legend Kevin McDonald on electric guitar.

    [b]* Sinti Jazz[/b]
    This will be held on Friday 31st May from 5.00 pm to 7.00 pm. It will be held at the Dunsborough Tavern.

    This band are a real blend of old world and new world jazz and it will be a night filled with gypsy jazz, local food and southwest brews.

    They are from Strasbourg in France and Sinti Jazz is a gypsy jazz trio focused on bringing this unique European style of jazz to our shores.

    Inspired by the incredible musicianship of not just Django but also the many masters who came in his footsteps, Sinti Jazz performs a distinct form of music. Their aim is to keep alive the 1930s timeless romantic hot swing of France and bring it to a new audience!

    Here you will hear everything from swing to bolero, waltz to bossa, and flamenco to popular song while tasting your way through Dunsborough Tavern's brand new menu.

    [b]* Marisa & Mark [/b]
    This will be on Friday 31st May from 5.30 pm to 8.30 pm and is a free event. It will be held at the iconic Caves House Hotel, 18 Yallingup Beach Road, Yallingup.

    Bridgetown local duo Marisa & Mark arrived in the south-west in 2017. Since then they have been getting a growing reputation for one of the most popular duos who were recently seen at the Blues at Bridgetown & Nannup festivals.

    MARISA DE VATTIMO is a sultry vocals singer. Her dynamic vocal range can be heard in English, Japanese, Italian and even Portuguese.

    MARK DE VATTIMO is just 20 plus and performs live and records hard rock, metal, blues, jazz and guitar weirdness.

    Marisa & Mark are currently writing a debut album which is due to be released early 2020.



    [b]* On the Green: Trumpet Takeover - Ashlin Parker (New Orleans)[/b]
    This will be on Saturday 1st June from 12: noon to 1.30 pm at Dunn Bay Road, Dunsborough.

    It is free and no booking is required. Ashlin Parker's resonating trumpet sounds will draw music lovers here in Dunsborough when he takes over the tent.

    He is from New Orleans and Ashlin is a sought-after and versatile jazz trumpeter. He has won a Grammy award with the New Orleans Jazz Orchestra and has performed with the likes of Ellis Marsalis, James Marsalis, and Aretha Franklin!

    Ashlin plays at festival and performances around the world and at he'll be playing in a quintet for a performance of jazz favourites. He is one of the greatest trumpeters in the world today.
