Enjoy a relaxing afternoon at courtesy of the Library at the Docks in Docklands.
The is a monthly event on the second Friday every month until June 2018. The next session, on Friday, February 9, will feature artists Tamara Murphy and Stephen Magnusson who will be performing both original pieces and "a few pop covers too".
"It is instrumental music, but very accessible," says Tamara. "I've worked with Stephen many times before - he is easily one of the country's finest guitarists, and I feel very honoured to be able to play music with him."
Tamara was awarded the PBS Young Elder of Jazz Commission in 2011 for her work
Big Creatures and Little Creatures with her ensemble, Murphy's Law. In 2012, it was nominated for both The Age Genre Music Awards and the Australian Jazz Bell Award.
Stephen Magnusson is somewhat of a child prodigy. He started playing ukulele at three, progressed to guitar at six years of age and began performing at the ripe old age of ten.
Tamara: "Every time I play with Stephen Magnusson, it feels special and I feel like the music really means something."
The performance goes from 4pm until 5.15pm.
This is a great chance to bring your friends, family or co-workers and come down for a Friday afternoon chill-out, grab some light refreshments and listen to the musical stylings of Tamara Murphy and Stephen Magnusson.
