Last Saturday night I was feeling the need for some culture, so I headed down to Javeenbah Theatre Company in Nerang to view they're latest work 'Nunsense'.
Javeenbah has been producing quality community theatre for years and run a number of plays every year from various genres; comedy, drama, mystery, musical.
Nunsense is a musical though it could also fit under comedy, as there is some witting humour throughout. Five nuns are in a sticky situation as all the other nuns died suddenly for food poisoning (it was the soup) and now the remaining nuns must put on a entertaining fundraiser to meet the burial costs for the dead nuns.
The cast are talented and stand out moments include when the nun who always wants the spotlight but never gets it, finally has her chance. And the facial expressions and vocal work of the nun who forgets everything, including her own name.
