Brisbane City Council's Bands In Parks program is one of many LIVE programs of arts and cultural activities and events and, includes music, festivals, cultural activities and community projects. Japanese Cultural Day on Sunday 18 August 2019 from 11am to 3pm celebrates Japan Week with traditional Japanese music, tea ceremony, calligraphy, ikebana, kimono dressing and taiko drumming.
No bookings are required. Just turn up at Brisbane Botanic Gardens Mt Coot-tha, 152 Mt Coot-tha Rd, Toowong on the day for this FREE family friendly event. Downey Park Food Trucks will be one of the food trucks serving up street food, ice cream, iced tea and more. Bring a picnic blanket and make a day of it.

Sun 18 Aug - 2pm to 3pm; School of Rock - Brisbane City Temple band plays pop and rock favourites in brilliant brass at Downfall Creek Bushland Centre, 815 Rode Rd, McDowall. This event is also part of Seniors Week.
Sun 25 Aug - 10am to 2pm; Bands by the Bay - food trucks and live music (Downey Park Food Trucks will be there too) of swing, brass, string, and pipe bands at George Clayton Park, 298 The Esplanade, Manly. Again, this event is also part of Seniors Week.
Sun 25 Aug - 10am to 2pm; Dogs Day Out - an unlikely title, but yup, this event is part of Bands in Parks and the Seniors Week program at Newstead House, Newstead. Celebrate International Dog Day for the first time at Newstead house and enjoy food trucks and bands playing dog-friendly music.
Sun 25 Aug - 11am to 12pm; Dance Anthems - enjoy musicians from Brisbane Brass Music Association, market stalls, sausage sizzle and more at McPherson Park, 146 Denham Street, Bracken Ridge.
