From Yandina to Baringa and everywhere in between, Chef Tomo Akutsu of Japanese Cuisine Classes has been conducting cooking classes for local adventurous foodies, who are excited to explore and experience the creation and sharing of yummy Japanese dishes.

Chef Tomo loves to share his passion for creating exciting and flavoursome dishes along with his Japanese culture, bringing people of all ages together in a fun and beneficial way. And, having just returned from a month in Japan, Chef Tomo is delighted to be sharing his ‘new’ experiences from his home country.

Japanese Cuisine Classes firmly believe that their Japanese cooking classes can serve as a starting point to foster meaningful connections in families, with friends and in communities. A delightful way to bring ‘Japan’ into your kitchen and have fun cooking its cuisine and celebrating the Japanese culture, is to host a special Japanese cooking evening, whether it be for a hen’s night, a special birthday, or even a corporate Christmas function, Chef Tomo would love to help out.

Come along for a culinary adventure at the unique Bar Deco in Yandina, making savoury pancakes, Japanese style. An evening filled with delightful crispy and savoury Okonomiyaki, the most popular Japanese street food is sure to impress anyone keen to learn this style of cooking. In addition to enjoying the Okonomiyaki, participants have the opportunity to purchase tap beers at an additional cost from Bar Deco. Henry from Bar Deco has skilfully crafted a special Japanese cocktail, the 'Tomo Sour,' featuring a delightful Umeshu (plum liquor) base, for everyone to enjoy - an additional cost will apply to this too.
