Blackbutt is well known for its award-winning bakery, but right next door is the delightful Janet Skinner Gallery. Set in a beautiful white house with lovely hanging planters full of flowers along the veranda and an interesting welcome of old-world furniture at the door.

Janet Skinner Gallery
Sadly it is only open on Friday, Saturday and Sunday mornings but you may be lucky to be passing by on one of those days. As Blackbutt is my coffee break stop, I had often seen the gallery so I was very excited to eventually be there on a day it was open.
Janet's gallery paintings focus on steam trains and old railway stations. Between 1992 and 1998, Janet painted from life over 100 railway stations in Qld and NSW. However, Janet's career spans 47 years and she is the author and artist of numerous books.
I loved all her steam train paintings as they bought back happy childhood memories for me. She had many prints for sale that can be framed and many delightful cards.
You can find the Janet Skinner Gallery on Main St, Blackbutt, right next door to the bakery. ph 0438123993
