A visit from TV chef Jamie Oliver attracted a lot of interest when he called in recently to visit his Ministry of Food Pop-up cooking school in Colonnades Shopping Centre at Noarlunga.
The pop-up was won by the City of Onkaparinga and Colonnades after some stiff competition throughout Australia to be the first region to host Jamie's Ministry of Food.
The cooking classes are open to anyone over 12 years of age who wants to learn the basics of cooking using fresh ingredients from scratch. (However, those between the ages of 12 and 16 must be supervised by a guardian or carer at all times during the class).
Classes cost $10 per class ($50 for 5 weeks) or $5 concession ($25 for 5 weeks), which includes all ingredients and training. Classes are available Tuesday – Sunday.
