I truly love Jamie's for their friendly staff, polenta chips, unfailing food and desserts. However the trattoria at Parramatta has given us another reason to rejoice and this time it's pizza. I do find it imperative to make a mention that the team at Jamie's accommodated a party of 4 with little or no wait time on a busy Saturday evening since we had booked the Jamie's in the city and turned up at innocently at the one in Parramatta - simple user error.
We didn't jump straight to pizza though. The tomato risotto arancini balls and polenta chips made their way to the table first. Needless to say a couple of cocktails too. They usually have their specials and I am waiting for the return of the salty dog cocktail, a wonderful concoction of vodka and grapejuice served with a salted rim.
Next came the pizzas, a traditional Margherita and a truffle pizza. We did find a weakness for the truffle oil pizza just like the lovely truffle risotto that they make. A couple of pizzas were a handsome quantity for the table of 4 (probably we were light eaters on the day).
A meal is never complete without a sweet treat. Our choices included the tiramisu, epic chocolate brownie and pannacotta among others. However since it was a day of polenta, we asked for a polenta orange cake. Probably not a favourite of mine but it went with the theme. The team at Jamie's do make it special if you call out that it's your birthday. No reason to deny some birthday cheer.
