Recently took the family to Jamie's Italian restaurant in Perth.
We were able to walk in without a booking (bookings can be made online) pretty easily around 5:30 on a Wednesday evening.

The Diners were my 2 girls (12 and 11) along with my wife and me.
As fans of Jamie Oliver there was a degree of anticipation and expectation. The exterior is unassuming with a large J on the wall outside the only indicator as we approached the restaurant.
Interior wise it is relaxed with a no frills rustic look. There was plenty of books and pictures of Jamie around and the vibe was pleasant and great for a family.

My daughters ordered off the Kids Menu's and had Jamie's Proper Picnic box and Mini Spaghetti and Meatballs respectively. Both meals came with a jar of salad as well. Whist the jars of salad looked and tasted great, they really weren't ideal to eat from and opening the jars was far from easy. Both my daughters enjoyed the meals and were well priced at $12.50 each.

I went with 2 entrees Firstly a Crab and Avocado Bruschetta which even for an entrée was small in size but pleasant enough to eat. The Plank of Cured Meats was as the name suggest served on a plank atop of 2 cans of tomatoes with a few other cheeses and chili jams smattered across the plank. Once again very light, even for an entrée. A couple of mouthfuls at best.

My wife ordered the Crispy Squid and was happy enough with it.
We ordered the famous Polenta chips and they delivered in spades being both tasty and filling.

Desserts came with the highlight being the Epic Brownie which was served with amaretto ice cream & caramelised amaretti popcorn.

I had one glass of white wine, which despite being empty during several visits from the wait staff, no offer of another was forthcoming.

A visit to the toilets from one side of the restaurant proved to be a bit of an obstacle course having to dance around waiters as you were required to walk through the food collection area for waiters.

Overall the cost was $160.00 which for a family of 4 is not bad, but in reality the experience was just average and a little underwhelming.
