Fortitude Valley's favourite foodie festival
Fortitude Valley's James Street is one of Brisbane's most popular hubs for food, fashion, design and, surprisingly bees and honey (more on that later). All that flavour and style comes spilling out into the street once a year for the James Street Food and Wine Trail, when music, bar treats, workshops, cooking demonstrations and activities for the kids are added to the mix. The James Street Food and Wine Trail 2018 will pack the precinct on Saturday 28 and Sunday 29 July.
This is a festival in two parts. Saturday 28 July is Trail Day where various food events will be held at some of the street's most popular eateries. Sunday 29 July is Market Day; a foodie street party with pop-up bars and market stalls from precinct favourites.
A collection of James Street's culinary establishments are offering some unique foodie experiences throughout the day, with everything covered from breakfast, brunch or lunch through to a cocktail collaboration where bees take centre stage. Now, that sounds interesting.
Wine Meats Cheese brings together wine, charcuterie and cheese from local and national suppliers for a delightfully tasty afternoon. It's from 12 noon to 2pm. Tickets cost $35 per person. Click here to book.
Breakfast at Spoon Cafe is really a long brunch where you can choose between French Toast and a corn fritter stack with a dessert tasting platter and a beverage. Tickets are $44 per person. Bookings are essential by phoning 3257 1750 or emailing

Harveys Bar and Bistro and Bee One Third Cocktail Collaboration. Bee One Third are James Street's urban beekeepers. They've joined with Harveys Bar to create the Bee One Third Honey Jumble Sour: a confection of Bee One Third honey, rum, ginger liqueur, egg whites, raspberries and fresh citrus. Available from Harveys Bar and Bistro during opening hours on both days.
