I found this "out of the way lookout" when I was doing my customary Sunday drive around the hinterland - the place I'm so lucky to call 'home'... I spotted the sign in Cooran just as I was leaving so, well, I had to take a look, didn't I? It's located on Tablelands road.

The drive up was steep in parts and about a third of the way up the road changes from bitumen to gravel. Some parts are quite steep and there's a couple of crossings that only have room for one vehicle so take it easy, speed wise. There are also corners that you cannot see around so take care coming down this road.

As I got closer to the lookout I noticed another gravel road running off to the left which said National Park and "Suitable for 4 Wheel Drives only."

That left me out in the cold, so I proceeded to the top instead.
I wasn't disappointed. The views were spectacular...

There were even a couple of BBQs and sheltered areas to picnic in. This park is part of the Noosa Trail Network and says on their website that a 'high degree' of fitness is required to walk here from Tablelands Road. Hmmm, I would like to guess that this would take a walker at least a couple of hours to walk to the top. Well worth the effort though, it's a beautiful spot.
