The
James Boag Brewery was established in Scotland in 1881. Approximately one hundred and sixty years ago the company decided to make a move to
Launceston in Tasmania where they could use the pure soft water from the island combined with local ingredients. The Brewery is situated in Launceston's heritage
Tamar Hotel, which consists of three bars, a beer garden and two levels of James Boag history and photographs.
