If not to taste an excellent beer, learn the history of James Boag
The James Boag Brewery was established in Scotland in 1881. Approximately one hundred and sixty years ago the company decided to make a move to Launceston in Tasmania where they could use the pure soft water from the island combined with local ingredients. The Brewery is situated in Launceston's heritage Tamar Hotel, which consists of three bars, a beer garden and two levels of James Boag history and photographs.
The James Boag range suits all taste with Premium, Light, Draught, Draught Light, XXX Ale and Wizards Smith Ale. Plus, Boag's St George is now back permanently added to the Tasmanian range and should be available in bottle shops by 15th October 2020. Coming out of COVID, the Brewery is relaunching on Saturday 29th August by reopening the Brewery Tours and events so locals can enjoy the experience with friends and family.
