The Gold Class cinemas are ever so popular here in Melbourne that you need to get in real quick. Even the Chicks At The Flicks events get too popular at times, only to be disappointed that you might have missed out yet again.

A visit to the Gold Class at Crown isn't too bad, although nothing too spectacular. The Chicken Tandoori Pizza represented good value; except they were way too generous on the rocket that it felt like a rainforest on a plate; where they could not have been so stingy on the chicken. Don't come to Gold Class starving; come hungry. The banana smoothie is quite milky and icy; so once again if you're in the mood for a quality glass of wine, make it happen although the waiter service is terrific. Not too sure about the orange coloured recliners, although the link above shows they are not orange - one experienced orange recliners.

Next stop, the Jam Factory at South Yarra. Much better. Despite one being invited to a private function with an abundant serving of Moet and canapes; the Jam Factory is a clear winner, however it gets booked out real quick. Not surprisingly. The lounge feels nicer and more spacious before you head into your movie, and the recliner seats feel more like stylish leather, and the colour is more suitable for a recliner chair as well; not as synthetic as Crown's Gold Class leather seats. The Gold Class Hot Dog left me hungry. Needless to say it is smart thinking for us cinema goers to be able to store our coats and handbags in a storage space above one's arm rest - quite unique indeed.

Although seeing the movies at Village Gold Class is a great experience either way; and both locations have their great points. For me, the Jam Factory wins for style and comfort. Better to eat somewhere else before hand if you can, and only have a drink and maybe an antipasto plate instead.
