This is another Malaysian eatery that I went to just recently. It is a daggy old, tired cafe in the middle of a shopping arcade in the city. The decor wasn't that great and the uniforms looked pretty daggy as such. They were only open for two years, but I wonder why everything looked so old and worn and tired.
I went on Friday lunchtime when it was really busy. The customers there were mainly students and workers in the area. The Hainanese chicken dish and the rice dishes seemed to be the most popular of all. The drinks, too, were popular.
I had the Penang char kuey teow ($11.90) and hated it. A few hours later I came down with food poisoning. There wasn't a whole lot of other things in there except for the noodles. There was only just a couple of prawns. There wasn't a lot of wok hei in there. Wok Hei is the smokiness of the dish. For that price I can get much better at the Pop Up Chinatown Markets. My drink of iced coffee ($4.50) seemed to be much better.
In short: go here for the drinks and the roti/rice and not the others.
