If you need a coffee and cake fix before or after an appointment on Wickham Tce, Jak and Hill fits the bill. This quaint cafe on nearby Astor Tce offers an array of inviting sweet and savoury treats, all baked on the premises.



We sampled the delicious citrus almond cake, raspberry cinnamon muffin and ham, tomato and cheese croissant. Other tempting treats on offer included Lindt chocolate brownies with white chocolate chunks, chocolate tart, chocolate chop cookies, shortbread and cherry tomato, feta and spinach tart and baguettes.



The cafe is located on the ground floor of the Punthill apartment hotel whose foyer adjoins the cafe. Breakfast, brunch, lunch and dinner are served 7 days a week, including burgers, salads and meals. The decor has a retro industrial feel, with timber copper-rimmed tables and metal dining chairs on polished concrete floors. Cutlery is on hand in recycled food tins on each table. Food and drinks are served on wooden chopping boards, milkshakes in original tall metal cups.



The breakfast and brunch menu is served from 7am till 3 pm (8am weekends). The lunch and dinner menu is available from noon till 9pm, 7 days.

The service was friendly and prompt on the quiet Saturday afternoon we visited. We were able to park on the street. Parking during the week would be harder to find, but includes metered street parking and a nearby multilevel car park. So next time you're in this part of town, put extra coins in the meter and drop in for a cuppa and treat.
