This is my first blog (learner plate still on) so I hope you enjoy as much as I do writing for you.

Mr N and I decided to look for a nearby restaurant for a quick meal before one of the Fringe shows in Rundle Street. Being a mature couple (kids left home and do not work in the city) we don't frequent the city regularly so as a Saturday night we found it rather busy and parking was our first hurdle for the night. However, we found a Wilson Car Park near the Austral Hotel in Bent Street.

Now back to our stomachs. I had flicked through the entertainment book at home before we left and found the which we had not hear of before. is situated in Vaughan Place (just off Rundle Street).

On entry the voices of people chatting and glasses clinking made us feel welcome and so did the waiter, although he did looked a bit frazzled. We learned later he had two staff off and there was just him and a lovely young French girl waiting the tables but he was friendly with a slight Basil Fawlty sense of humour. He guided us to a table in a quiet corner which was considerate as a large table with young people were chatting away on the other side of the Lounge.

[ADVERT]The Lounge was small but cosy with comfy seating, not cramped and somehow everything just fitted. As we were seated the waitress swiftly organised our menus and water for the table with ice and a slice of orange in each glass.

The menu was absolutely amazing. Everything sounded delicious. Mmm what to chose? Mr N decided on the pork belly which he said was tender, juicy and thought the flavour had a slight hint of English mustard. It was laid over a mountain of braised cabbage served with a large dollop of creamed pumpkin. I chose the lamb shank pie and vegetables. The lamb pie was huge and surrounded by a moat of soft peas and gravy. The lamb just melted in my mouth and was truly plentiful and warming. I felt like I was in mum's kitchen with lovely jazz music humming in the background.

Jah'z certainly boast a full menu of starters, entrees, mains and deserts. Steak, kangaroo, pork, chicken and fish are just the tip of the iceberg of what they have to offer all at very reasonable prices. The drinks menu is also well priced with enough variety for most people without going into too many premium or overly priced wines. I had a glass of Janz champagne and Mr N chose a coopers light beer.

Now for desert, many to chose from but my favourite, affogato, was perfect to finish any meal.

is a MUST place to visit. Friendly, cosy, great food and all very reasonably priced. Take your entertainment card.
