Sydney's Burlesque Darling Tasia, lets us know why we shouldn't miss out on a night that reeks of old Hollywood glamour.

1.How did you enter the Burlesque World?

I first saw a friend of mine; Lulu perform a fan dance at a rockabilly gig about 7 years ago and I was captivated. I remember being frustrated at that same venue only a month before, that I had so many talented friends that were singers or musicians, and that my talent was dance and I couldn't really show that. So on seeing Lulu's performance I was instantly inspired.

It was possibly a year later that Lulu and Tula approached me to join them and become Belladonnas de Lux. I think maybe the fact that I was always the first on the dance floor when the tragic 80's tunes were pumping that alerted them to my love of dance and sense of humour. And so Belladonnas de Lux and Tasia were born.

2. Where can we see Tasia perform?

Well just about anywhere there is an appreciative audience! I am currently headlining and choreographing for in Sydney. I have performed for the Burlesque Hall of Fame in Las Vegas and the New York Burlesque Festival. Toured Melbourne, Brisbane, Sydney and Hobart with the Australian Burlesque Festival, The Absinth club, Good drugs Bad Women, The Gangsters Ball, and performed regularly at my beloved 34B Sydney where it all began.

As well as music festivals, corporate events and many other high profile events. You just never know where I will pop up.

3. Who are your favourite Burlesque/ Cabaret Performers?

Sally Rand is the most graceful woman I think I have ever seen. I wish I could have seen her live. Dirty Martini is just all round fabulous! Angie Pontani is perfection personified with a killer bump and grind. There are just too many to mention. The diversity in Burlesque is what excites me most.

4. What can we expect from a night with Tasia?

Anything from an Art Deco fantasy to a Voyeuristic romp in the dark, expect to be entertained. I aim to tease.

5. What is your most favourite performance piece?

That's a hard one. I love different acts for different reasons. My classic fan dance to Portishead Glory Box let's me explore the glory of being a woman. Luminosity brings out the my strong Vampish nature, and my Tiger act lets loose the animal within. They are all facets of my personality made larger than life for the stage.

6. What would you to say to those that have never experienced Burlesque?

Expect nothing! Leave your expectations at home and experience what is in front of you. You can never predict what you will see in a Burlesque show. Skin is a pretty good bet though! Burlesque is an interactive experience, we love a vocal audience so if you want to whoop and holler do it! Let yourself go and let us entertain you.
