The House of Jack Rabbit opens for breakfast on weekends from 9am-10:30am, with menu items comprising variations of eggs, and catering for gluten free diets. The staff are happy to accommodate from the lunch menu if eggs don't catch your appetite and will gladly modify dishes for dietary requirements where able.
Jack Rabbit Vineyard smoked salmon breakfast #BED
I chose smoked salmon and avocado with hollandaise sauce, atop lightly toasted gluten free bread. This dish normally comes with ricotta cheese too. Probably the best-poached eggs I have eaten in a long time – warm and thin layer of coagulated egg white with the uncooked yolk oozing out with the first bite, complimented with a generous pour of rich and tangy hollandaise sauce, fresh and creamy avocado slices, and the saltiness of smoked salmon.
My dining companions chose Eggs Benedict (two poached Kossies Eggs, Barwon Valley ham, toasted English muffin, hollandaise sauce); eggs with additional sides of bacon, mushrooms and baked beans; hash brown and fries from the lunch menu for the kids; and the big breakfast packed with the lot - two eggs, Barwon Valley bacon, Jack Rabbit pinot & cracked pepper chipolatas, roasted tomato, housemade baked beans, hash brown, and thick toasted bread. Unanimous vocalisations of delight and satisfaction, even from the kids!

Enjoying views of sweeping hillsides of naked vines and ocean scapes across the bay to Geelong, we began with aromatic coffees and a selection of T2 tea, and then enjoyed our breakfast with a bottle of 2016 Jack Rabbit Single Vineyard Sparkling Blanc De Blanc – highly recommended. Crisp, fresh, and delicate on the palate, and easy to drink, you will want to buy a case to take home.
The café opens for breakfast on weekends (9-10:30am), lunch and Cellar Door tastings daily, and dinner Friday and Saturday nights during Daylight Saving. The more formal Jack Rabbit Restaurant offers and acclaimed a la carte menu showcasing fresh, local produce. The restaurant is open 7 days for lunch, dinner every Friday and Saturday night, and offers private function bookings for all occasions.
