Bonnie Lythgoe Productions is presenting its sixth and
biggest Australian pantomime of
Jack and The Beanstalk at State Theatre from 12 to 21 July, 2019.
Jack and The Beanstalk is an English fairy tale. It appeared as
The Story of Jack Spriggins and the Enchanted Bean in 1734 and as Benjamin Tabart's moralised
The History of Jack and the Bean-Stalk in 1807. Henry Cole, publishing under pen name Felix Summerly, popularised the tale in The Home Treasury in 1845 and Joseph Jacobs rewrote it in
English Fairy Tales during 1890. Jacobs' version is most commonly reprinted today.
The pantomime will follow the success of
Sleeping Beauty - a Knight Avenger's Tale,
The Adventures of Peter Pan & Tinker Bell in 2017,
Cinderella in 2016,
Aladdin and his Wondrous Lamp in 2015 and
Snow White Winter Family Musical in 2014.
This magical, laughter filled production of
Jack and The Beanstalk will feature a fantastic 3D sequence that will transport audience members deep into the Giant's castle.
Starring Lucy Durack as Fairy Crystal Spirit of the Beans, Peter Rowsthorn performs as King Able Crumble, Jimmy Rees (aka Jimmy Giggle) stars as Simple Simon Trott and Hi-5 performer Lachlan Dearing is Jack. Other cast members include Richard Reid, Luke Joslin, Anastasia Feneri and Malcolm Lord.
With morning, afternoon and evening performances, book your tickets now for the strictly limited season.
Head to State Theatre from 12 to 31 July 2019 to enjoy the pantomime of
Jack and The Beanstalk.
