There are so many options for weekend escapes around Brisbane, we really are spoilt for choice. , near Maleny are a great little getaway snuggled up in the Sunshine Coast Hinterland.



There are seven different accommodation cabins to choose from dotted around the property, each one fully fenced with its own separate garden area. The cottages are all pet friendly and family friendly and are well maintained. The property itself occupies a small valley at Witta, ten minutes drive north-west of Maleny and there are views of green pasture and pockets of untouched Bunya forest in between.



The Chalet:

We stayed in The Chalet, a three bedroom cottage with a pleasant sunny verandah around two sides of the cottage. The kids loved sleeping in the upstairs attic room with dormer windows overlooking the surrounding farmland. They also enjoyed climbing the trees and exploring their very own country garden and having a luxurious spa bath at the end of the day. If you're after a genuine country experience and self catering option, then this will be perfect for you. also have larger and smaller cabins suitable for accommodating groups and/or couples.



Things to do:

I enjoyed exploring the local hinterland and wandering around the art and craft shops of Maleny and Montville. There are also some unique pockets of rainforest to walk through, overlooking The Glasshouse Mountains at nearby Mary Cairncross Park . I loved visiting the newly opened Maleny Botanic Gardens and Maleny Dairy is always a hit with families.
