Italians have style, and to celebrate everything Italian, the 10th annual festival 'officially' starts on 23rd May. That's when the bridges of Brisbane are displayed with lights of the colours of the Italian flag. The bridges will be illuminated until the end of the festival on Sunday 5th June. All around Brisbane you can see the colours of the flag, green, red and white, a tribute to the contribution of the people of Italy who have shared their style and culture with the people of Australia, Brisbane in particular.
Then follows a comprehensive programme of familiar and new events including cooking classes. You may want to learn to make pasta or authentic regional cooking secrets from the women who have learnt from their mothers.
