Learn what La Vita Bella means Free Italian lessons
How would you like to learn a language and be a community-minded person at the same time? Well, you can at The Scalabrini Village Allambie Heights - a not-for-profit residential aged care provider - from Wednesday 5 August, when FREE weekly Italian lessons will be offered from 3.00 - 4.00pm. The lessons are in English so an Italian background is not a prerequisite.
Learning a second (or third) language helps if you enjoy travelling.
These lessons are an initiative of Scalabrini Village's Person Centred Care approach that taps into their residents' unique qualities and life experiences. A resident, Cecilia Roncolato, started impromptu Italian lessons for staff. Aged 70, Cecilia's passion for teaching not only attracted staff but also members of the wider community through word-of-mouth.
Cecilia's weekly lessons cover basic Italian language, grammar and pronunciation as well as Italian history. To book your spot, phone Scalabrini Village on 02 8977 1600. Bookings essential and places are limited.
Italian-language lessons with a bit of history too at Scalabrini Village.
Learning a new language keeps your mind active, and who knows, if you do have the chance to travel to Italy, you will have basic language skills to impress the locals.
