Bringing a dash of Mediterranean romance to 15 superb Palace locations from mid-September to late October, the Festival's 15th edition will premiere 34 show-stopping new features and documentaries plus one glamorous classic, showcasing the charisma of Italy's most engaging actors.
I saw 'I Can Quit Whenever I Want' the other day which is fast paced, frequently humorous and occasionally frightening foray into the seedy underworld of recreational drugs.
Although the film takes some time to establish itself, it quickly builds to explore the essential theme of the movie – delving into the highs and lows associated with the "start-up" venture of a group of inexperienced dealers.
It highlights the heady mix of partying, drugs, women, fame and fortune, and whilst all these facets are initially alluring to the protagonists, the perils of such a decadent lifestyle quickly sees the group taught some stern life lessons during their journey in their new careers.
An interesting blend of the "Hangover" and "Breaking Bad", with the quirky Italian version of Zach Galifianakis stealing the show, makes this a fun, although at times serious portrayal of a dangerous and eclectic world foreign to most movie goers.
Those less familiar with the Italian language may find some of the subtle nuances within the dialogue harder to appreciate although this will be unlikely to take away from the overall enjoyment of what is a very good film.
