Ischia Ristorante, Highgate

Located on Beaufort Street in Highgate is the Italian restaurant Ischia Ristorante. I recently visited this venue for the first time with work colleagues for our Christmas lunch.

Because of the size of our group, we sat outside, and it was hot. This is by no means the fault of the venue, and they did have air-conditioning units in the outdoor area to try to help fight the heat, but these weren't really helpful unless you were sitting right on top of them.

Frozen Daiquiri - choice of flavours available

Our group ordered a variety of different drinks - beers, cocktails, soft drinks - all of which were delivered quickly and efficiently. There was also a variety of meals ordered, some of the group had starters along with their mains, others just their mains - and our waitress did ask and those of us who were just having a main got these along with everyone else's starters.

Some of the ordered starters included arancini, bruschetta, garlic bread (always a classic), olives with feta and croquettes, but there are many other items you can choose from.

The service was quick, and there were quite a few other tables of various sizes in at the same time as us, so credit to the kitchen for their efficiency ensuring people weren't waiting too long for their food. Personally, I was able to order a child's serving of lasagne (I've had weight loss surgery so can't eat big meals). Between that and an arancini ball a friend gave me I was very content with my meal. It was served very hot - I honestly almost burnt my mouth on it.

Scaloppine ai Funghi

As for the mains, there were quite a number of pasta dishes ordered, all of which were good serving sizes for the prices paid, as well as the scaloppine I photographed above. If pasta isn't your thing they have a variety of pizzas and main options to choose from.

While I didn't indulge in dessert, another of our party did and they looked extremely tasty and you can try things like, apple crumble, panna cotta and creme brulee (which would have been my pick if I'd had one).

Overall it was a lovely meal and would recommend it to anyone if you're in the area. Ischia Ristorante has two locations;
500 Beaufort Street Highate
155 Claisebrook Road, Perth
Both are open 7 days a week from 12pm-10pm. You can check out their menu and book online via their website.
