Tummies and Wallets Left Full at Tasty Italian Restaurant
The Busy Isabella's Italian Restaurant in Randwick is Value For Money
[ADVERT]Randwick is home to a large number of eating establishments, from Indian to noodles, sushi to sandwiches, and I guess that this is due to it's proximity to the hospital, university and army barracks. It also makes it a regular on the bus routes, and it was seeing this little Italian restaurant across the road from the bus stop on Alison Street that piqued my interest.
The first thing I noticed was that Isabella's Italian Restaurant was absolutely packed with customers. Always a good sign. We popped in and were squeezed into the one vacant table left in the place. A brief glance at the menu revealed one of the draw cards - the prices were cheap! Pasta dishes for $10.50, veal, steak and seafood for $13.50, and a wide range of desserts. It sounded too good to be true. We placed our orders and watched as hearty servings were brought out to other diners.
When my pasta arrived, I was stunned by how much food was on the plate. I had ordered a spicy chicken napolitana and it was delicious. Other diners with me enjoyed their steak and seafood dishes as well.
Despite the size of the meal, we managed to find room to taste the desserts. I enjoyed a delicious creme brûlée while others enjoyed an ice-cream tiramisu.
The restaurant was very busy and noisy, but the service was very quick. The walls were adorned with art work from a local artist which was available for sale. Reading reviews afterwards, it appears that Isabella's is also known for its breakfast, which makes use of organic and free-range eggs. Maybe that will be worth a try next time we are in town.
Isabella's is open for breakfast every day from 8am until 3pm, and for dinner every night until 10pm. I would strongly recommend booking a table by calling them on 02 9314 7399. The restaurant is BYO and caters for gluten free meals as well.
This is a favourite for my husband and I who are Randwick locals. The breakfast is amazing - over 50 dishes on the menu with average price of $8.50. Difficult to finish many of the breakfast meals and accompanied by quick and efficient service from the friendly staff.
