The best film of the year so far
As an avid fan of both Marvel the Avengers franchise, I was incredibly excited to attend the first possible showing of Iron Man 3 at my local cinema. Admittedly, it was the showing that began just after midnight, but I wasn't about to complain...

As always, Robert Downey Jr is on top form, spanning both the tragic and comedic, the egotistical and the very human. Guy Pearce and Ben Kingsley light up the screen as the main antagonists, and supporting actresses Rebecca Hall and Gwyneth Paltrow provide a much needed strong, female presence to the screen.

As for the storyline, I can't give too much away, as your head will be spinning thanks to all the amazing twists and turns of the film. I can, however, inform you that the balance of humour, action and drama is absolutely perfect.

For comic book fanatic and those who have loyally followed the franchise, this film will not disappoint you. Prepare to be totally transfixed, and enjoy the ride. Even if this is your first introduction to Iron Man, the Avengers franchise, or superhero films in general, then this is a great place to start.
