If your kids like to dance the jig, we've found the event for you.
Irish Kids Fest is on at the
Melbourne Immigration Museum this Sunday the 13th of January from 11am until 4pm.
The program is jammed packed with activities and workshops. There will be an interactive
Treasure Island performance with Jack and Molly. The
Christine Ayres School of Irish Dancing will keep visitors entertained with dance performances. Children are also invited to learn traditional Irish step dancing and play the bodhrán at workshops run by the
Lake School of Celtic Music Song & Dance. Afterwards they can sit down and relax at the free face painting.
Storyteller Oisín McKenna is sure to enthral and entertain the family with her Irish tales and folklore. Free craft activities include creating illuminated bookmark, claddagh crown and a 3D family tree. Creative flair can also be used to write limericks and enter the
Limerick Competition. Families are encouraged to visit the exhibition "
Leaving Dublin " on the day.
Children and concession card holders have free entry to the day. Adults can purchase a ticket for $10.
