Twelve days of music, parties and celebration are in store for the city of Ipswich. There are many highlights to the festival, including a huge street party, street parade and fireworks display, Fire On The River.



Wednesday, April 24th - Sunday, May 5th:

Many entertaining events are scheduled throughout the festival, featuring local community groups and musicians. The general public are welcome to attend most of the events which are free or low cost. There will be a Global Fiesta, Jazz Wine and Blues, and Kids Kingdom as well as many satellite events, such as Ipswich Festival Cup and Brisbane 2 Ipswich Challenge. Festival Street Party, Saturday, April 27th, 4.30pm - 9.30pm:

Brisbane Street is the place to be for the Festival Street Party. Begin with some shopping at the Festival Markets in The Mall, then watch the Street Parade at 3.30pm, as it glides past - this year's theme is "Once Upon A Nursery Rhyme" and is sure to be a crowd pleaser. Afterwards, many amazing performers will take to the stage, including 9 Piece Band, Oz Hornz.

Kids Kingdom, Sunday, April 28th, 12 noon - 4pm :

Families will find it had to resist this free event taking place in Queens Park - from magic shows to snake patting to an Ice Age 4 Adventure, children of all ages will enjoy this great event.

Fire on the River, Thursday, May 2nd, 7pm:

This event is a festival favourite as the skies light up and the whole city comes out to celebrate. Best seen from Riverlink Shopping Centre and David Trumpy Bridge.



Global Fiesta, Sunday, May 5th, 11am - 4.30pm:

The festival will end on a multi cultural note with the popular Global Fiesta in Queens Park. There will be art and craft workshops, international dance demonstrations, and a tasty array of food from around the globe.
