Just a girl spreading the word about all the fun (and probably nerdy) things to do!
A fairy opera at the University of Sydney
What is Iolanthe? Iolanthe is a comic opera by Gilbert & Sullivan and it's nearly here. Where's here? 'Here' happens to be Sydney University, as it is a uni-based production.
A little more on Iolanthe. It's a "fairy opera" involviong a fairy married to a mortal human, who was sent into exile. 25 years later she is called by the Fairy Queen, and brings with her, her half-mortal, half-fairy son, who has fallen in love. Many complications and musical numbers later... well I can't reveal the ending, you'll just have to watch for yourself.
It is being presented by MUSE, the Sydney Uni Musical Theatre Ensemble. All the cast and crew have been working really hard on this one and it should be fantastic.
Lots of effort and love have been put into this so if you're interested or know a friend or family member in the production it's definitely worth going to and bringing a whole bunch of friends with you.
It will be located at Studio B of the Holme Building at Sydney University from Tuesday the 28th of May to Friday the 31st of May at 7pm.
Tickets can be booked online here, or can be bought at the door on the night. Prices are $5 for MUSE members, $10 for USU Access, $15 for concession and $20 for adults.
