When you were a child and complained of toothache, did your Grandmother give you a clove from the kitchen pantry and tell you to chew on it ?

When you were full of flu, did your Gran pour Eucalyptus into a hot bucket of water, insisting you stand over the bucket with a towel over your head ensuring you breathed in the fumes ?

Did breathing become easier ? Did you enjoy some temporary relief in that tender area in your mouth?

If you answered Yes to either of these questions, then this was your introduction to Aromatherapy.

Aromatherapy is the therapeutic use of aromatic plant oils, including essential oils, made from plants and flowers. It is used to alter one's mood, psychological or physical well being.

Aromatherapy dates back to ancient civilisations when essential oils were used in cosmetics, perfumes and drugs.

The Australian College of Aromatherapy, with premises at The Palms, Suite 3/ 16- 36 Nile Street, Woolloongabba, is holding a mini to provide people with more knowledge about essential oils, and how they can be utilised in today's world.

The Workshop will be hands-on with every attendee making a face cream using essential oils to meet their own criteria, which they will then be able to take home.

The Workshop is scheduled for Friday, 26th of June, and you can reserve your seat by contacting the College on 1300 13 14 72, or by emailing [email protected].

This three (3) hour workshop will run from 10 am to 1 pm allowing plenty of drop off time for those on a school run. Woolloongabba is well serviced by public transport - both buses and trains.

The fee for this Workshop is $49.00 which includes all materials, and the Facilitator will be Gwendoline Ford, College Director.

Did your Gran place slices of lemon inside your refrigerator too ?
