Geology School Brisbane is hosting an Introduction to Geology Course on Sunday 11th of October, 2015 at The Maida Lilley Community Centre.
This 1 day course is open to all and introduces students to the principles of geology, with a focus on mineral and rock identification skills.
The course will run from 9am to 4pm and is facilitated by Andrew Robertson, a trained geologist whose university and professional career as a geologist has taken him to many countries including Scotland, Italy, Switzerland, Spain, Australia, Ecuador and the Solomon Islands.
Over the years, Andrew has observed and interpreted many geological terrains and in this introductory course, he will explore basic rock and mineral classification, in reference to common sedimentary, igneous and metamorphic rock types. Students will also discover how these rock types are formed and where they are found.
