There's no better way to get the serotonin flowing than immersing yourself in art. In stressful times like these, this important chemical and neurotransmitter plays a vital role in keeping us healthy and happy. What better way to take the opportunity to keep the spirits up than joining FREE online art classes for adults. If you've always wanted to but never dared, take advantage of this free INTROart Event hosted weekly by Glen Eira City Council - Arts and Culture on every Saturday in July (4, 11, 18, 25) from 3-4pm.
Local Glen Eira artist and art teacher Fiona Wood has an inspiring selection of creative arts and craft sessions mapped out for you that covers painting pots (4 Jul), ceramic pots and sculptures (11 Jul), mosaic (18 Jul) and macrame (25 Jul). You don't have to do every class and can choose just the ones that interest you. You may also choose to learn just by watching rather than participating. Each week brings a new craft and it's recommended you start sourcing supplies prior to each session. Do note if you're a little media-shy; these online sessions will be published on Council's Arts and Culture Facebook page.
For the rest of the terms and conditions, please head to the event page for full details. Listen to what Fiona has to say, and get a list of materials on the Discussion Page for your first class where you'll be painting your very own pot with acrylic paints. Be sure to stay in touch with the Council's event listings for the rest of the classes as they come to hand closer to dates, to get your list of materials for each class following.
You can also head to the website for more details, which gives you an overview of the events. The Council also has Sunday LIVE Sessionscoming up, coupling the dates of the art classes, so check them out too and end up with a great weekend of entertainment for July. The Sunday Sessions need BOOKING and you'll find booking details on the website.
