Earthship Australia is a not-for-profit association driving the adoption of self-sufficient off the grid housing across Australia, based on renowned architect Michael Reynolds . Founded in 2013, they are informed by the activities of Earthship Biotecture in the United States . For the month of September, they are running an Online Series over four weeks (Thursdays in Sep (3, 10, 17, 24 - 2020 from 6-7.30pm). If you'd like to find out more or have been thinking of adopting a lifestyle that works harmoniously as one with the environment with little input from external systems, get your TICKETS HERE .

Tickets are $100 ($75 concession) for the full 4 weeks, including Q&A and added resources. There's an added event that follows on from the 4 weeks on Thu 1 Oct 2020 from 6-7.30 with off-grid guru Michael Mobbs on Going Off-Grid in the City. It's $30 for this one single session. It does not give you access to the rest of the course prior to this event.

The schedule for the 4 (plus 1 with Michael Mobbs) week online sessions, every Thursday from 6-7.30pm are as follows. You'll learn from experienced local natural building, planning, PassiveHaus, DIY solar and permaculture design professionals who'll inspire you towards your journey to greater physical and material self-sufficiency.

  • Thu 3 Sep - Intro to Natural Building - Dr Rachel Goldlust, Earthship Aust Secretary & Adjunct at La Trobe University
  • Thu 10 Sep - Permaculture - Guy Ritani & Toad Dell, Permaqueer
  • Thu 17 Sep - Off-Grid Solar - Sylph Dominic Hawkins, Electro Research and Development
  • Thu 24 Sep - PassivHaus Solar Design - Henrik Ender, PassiveHouse Design Consultant
  • Thu 1 Oct - Going Off-Grid in the City (extra singular event) - Michael Mobbs, Environmental Activist and Author of Sustainable House and Sustainable Food.

  • The first event will introduce you to natural building, site and project planning and workshop vs owner-builder considerations. The second; home design from a permaculture perspective. The third; intro to off-grid solar and batteries, a guide for transitioning to self-sufficient power. The fourth; the fundamentals of building sensibly, using passive solar principles. At the last special Michael Mobbs event, he'll cover key data to consider, along with how to go about getting approvals and more. For FULL DETAILS - SEE HERE .

These workshop series are perfect for those who want to follow the current trend of not buying into a big mortgage. In these 4 weeks, you'll put your ideas down on paper and work on your own designs of your dream environment. You might even rethink our whole plan as you develop through workshopping your ideas with the professionals.

You don't need previous experience, nor a background in any of the subject areas. Just an open mind and a willingness to go on a journey with a community that helps each other realise their dreams and problem solves along the way. You'll leave this event with a stronger vision, get access to resources provided each week and some practical lists and steps to take with you.
