I love wine events because I feel that my skills of tasting and recognising some of the notes has improved, and it has made me quite interested in learning more about wines. I remember being very impressed with some of my dates when they could spout their knowledge about wines, sniffing and swirling before tasting - it all seemed rather posh in my youth. Into The Vines: Wines on Paw on Thursday 12 September 2024 from 6-9pm at 2A Robert Street, Collingwood are returning with another packaged lineup, and are calling out for the Wine Bar/Pub Dogs of Collingwood to pop in. With 28 wines on pour featuring locally made traditional, classic, and lo-fi wineries from across Victoria, you'll get to discover some incredible imports from small Latin American producers as well. The event is always a sell-out, so to avoid disappointment, book early here! Needless to say the event is for ages 18 years and over only and ID is required.

Wine and cheese go together like a marriage made in heaven, so it's no surprise there'll be a Cheese and Wine Pairing Masterclass hosted by Jay Bessel (because spring is platter season after all!) who is highly regarded and sought after for curating wine lists in many of Melbourne's finest dining establishments, and training their staff. Jay will be teaching you how to pair and choose wine to accompany your cheese platter, and what matters. It will incorporate one wine from each of our winemakers in the class, so it's a great way to discover even more wines in depth. Definitely bring your pooches as there's a Pop Up Dog Photography studio to capture the neighbourhood's most social pups in support of Pets of the Homeless .

Each of the wineries has been carefully chosen by the Tracado team who host the event and come recommended by fellow winemakers, sommeliers and restaurants who have worked with them directly. On arrival, you'll be given a tasting card, a glass and an introduction to all of the importers. Then you will be invited to move through the room discovering and purchasing the wines - it's a great way to stock up and save with lots of great offers by buying direct. Especially with the festive season hot on our tails. it's also a great opportunity to meet the maker and support them directly, learn the stories behind the wines and discover wines often only available on-premise.

Winemakers this time include DefDefialy (VIC)l Bandicoot Run - see winemaker in image below (Gippsland); WOCA (Latin America); Empire Of Dirt (Geelong); and Save Our Souls Wines. See the event page for more details about the wines on pour; a list that could change, pending on availability. Stay in touch with the event page for updates. What's important is that you get yourself to the event because Mica Benitez of Mica Chocolate will also be there, and selling and sharing her handmade chocolate.
