Three Adelaide International Print Exchanges
Ghost Flight, etching by Diane Davis, USA, sent to the Interwoven exchange

Interwoven and Friends: Three Adelaide International Print Exchanges showcases the works of printmakers from all over Australia and around the world.

Fig and Wasp, linocut by Janet Neilsen, Victoria, sent to the Interwoven exchange

The theme of all three print exchanges was the preciousness of our natural world and what it means to each contributor.

Hello, my Name is Red-tailed Phascogale, linocut by Kim Horn, SA, sent to the Interwoven exchange

Each artist sent an edition of 12 handmade prints, of which ten were distributed randomly amongst the contributors, while one was retained for display and the other made available for sale. Some artists sent extra prints that are available for sale.

Riverine Reverie, linocut by Mary Pulford, SA, sent to the Interwoven exchange

The third and final exchange, 'Interwoven', was exhibited at the SA Museum during the 2022 Nature Festival.

From 1 - 29 June 2023, all are welcome to view the prints from all three exchanges Interwoven, Global Oceans and Winged Images, which will be on display at the City of West Torrens Gallery, located inside West Torrens Library.

Interwoven, mezzotint by Peter Kocak, Slovakia, sent to the Interwoven exchange

'Interwoven' explores the vital connections between every living thing on the planet, which humans need to return to understanding and respecting. We must act now, to ensure that our planet survives. If we cultivate respect for our planet, then maybe we will survive as well. Each of the prints in the show is accompanied by a statement from the artist that reflects their personal perspective on this theme.

In the Stars, monoprint by Kate Gorringe-Smith, Victoria, sent to the Winged Images exchange

An Exhibition Opening event will take place on Thursday, 1 June 2023 from 5:00 pm - 8:00 pm. All are welcome to attend.

Just One More, linocut by Laura Castell, sent to the Global Oceans exchange

A large percentage of the exhibited prints will still be available for sale and all proceeds will be donated to the Nature Foundation and/or Conservation SA.

The City of West Torrens Gallery Auditorium opening hours are as follows:

  • Monday 10am - 6pm

  • Tuesday 10am - 6pm
